Beneficiary of the Black and White Ball Silent Auction Announced

Black and White Ball Silent Auction to Benefit Rim Country Educational Foundation

Rim Country Educational Foundation will be the beneficiary of the Silent Auction at next year’s Black and White Ball.  The Ball, a fundraising event sponsored by Mogollon Health Alliance, will be held at the Mazatzal Hotel and Casino on Saturday, January 18.  Last year’s Silent Auction raised over $7300 for RCEF. “We were really pleased with the support we received, both from the community and from those who bid in the auction,” commented Sanja Long, CEO of Mogollon Health Alliance. “We know everyone is eager for the campus to move forward. We would love to raise $8000 this year.”

Donations for the auction may be made through the first weekend in January. Gift certificates, personal or professional services, and high quality personal items are all welcome contributions, in addition to goods from local businesses. “A watch donated by a campus supporter last year was one of the most sought after items,” noted Long. “We are trying to broaden the donation base this year.” Any individual or business interested in contributing may contact Ms. Long at 928-472-2588.

Money raised from the Silent Auction will be used to offset campus pre-development expenses, which will continue in 2014. “We met our target last year,” commented Fundraising Committee Co-Chairperson Janet Vidnovic. “But expenses for the cultural mitigation work and other ancillary development costs will resume next year.  We’re trying to plan ahead for those expenses.”

Once the campus development plan is finalized, the developer is expected to refund the pre-development expenses to RCEF, so the money can be used for scholarships for local youth. “We have big plans to continue to raise money to offset tuition costs,” concluded Vidnovic. “ We have aggressive goals to help local students in the future, but covering these upfront costs is our immediate objective.”

Under the umbrella of Mogollon Health Alliance (MHA), Rim Country Educational Foundation qualifies as a 501c(3) tax-exempt organization.
