Mayor Evan’s vision for the campus and his commitment to making it a reality inspired Laura Ann and motivated her to assess how she could make a personal contribution that would be valuable. She joined the Volunteer Committee in the fall of 2010, and has been impressed by how much a small group of individuals has been able to accomplish. Ensuring a clear and consistent message is delivered regarding the campus and its benefits to the community is a central part of what Laura Ann hopes to accomplish.

A University Campus in Payson VolunteerJ.B. Bancroft is the co-lead of the Site Development & Facilities Design Committee on the Volunteer Planning Committee for a University Campus in Payson.

J.B. served as Assistant Dean and later as Dean of the College of Arts and Architecture at Montana State University. During his seven-years as dean, the college added new degree programs, increased resources, increased the size of the college by more than 30 percent, and added award-winning faculty.

University Campus in PaysonRob Ingram is the Site Acquisition Committee Lead on the Volunteer Planning Committee for a University Campus in Payson.

Rob has worked for USDA Forest Service for over 35 years in the Southwestern Region. He wrote and participated as team member and facilitator on Environmental Impact Statements, Environmental Assessments, Categorical Exclusions for Vegetation Management, Road Management, Trail Management etc.

Volunteer, A University Campus in  PaysonLeon Keddington is the co-lead of the Site Development & Facilities Design Committee on the Volunteer Planning Committee for a University Campus in Payson.

Leon served as the Head of the Transmission Division with the City of Los Angeles, Department of Water and Power, responsible for all aspects of the high voltage power grid, including more than three hundred employees and an annual budget of several hundred million dollars.

A University Campus in Payson VolunteerJudie Lyon is the Founder and Chairperson and the co-lead of the Curriculum & Instruction Committee on the Volunteer Planning Committee for a University Campus in Payson.

Judie became interested in a university campus in Payson because of the educational impact and cultural enrichment that she envisioned would come to Payson as a result of having a university campus in Payson. Her vision of the campus is a blending of the natural beauty of Rim Country with a technologically progressive curriculum that will be a model of sustainability.

Volunteer, A University Campus in PaysonRichard Johnson is the Funding Lead on the Volunteer Planning Committee for a University Campus in Payson.

Richard engaged in private practice law in Maricopa County, Arizona from 1968–2008, with emphasis in estate and tax planning, settlement of estates, real estate transactions and small business representation. He also served as Law Clerk to Chief Justice Jesse Udall, Arizona Supreme Court, 1967-68.

A University Campus in Payson VolunteersBruce Walter is a member of the Site Development & Facilities Design Committee on the Volunteer Planning Committee for a University Campus in Payson.

Bruce has extensive experience in the development, management, operation and maintenance of electric power generation stations. As manager of generation operations, he was responsible for operations, performance engineering, fuels, chemistry and safety at three power plants and managed 165 total personnel in this capacity.

Janet’s interest in education and small town universities began at a young age. As a child she enjoyed growing up in a college town. After her father earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Tech, he moved the family to Ames Iowa, where he taught at Iowa State University.

Sanja’s passion for improving the educational opportunities in the Payson community brought her to her current position as the CEO of the Mogollon Health Alliance (MHA). When the MHA decided to add the Rim Country Educational Foundation as one of their designated funds, she knew this was a perfect match. Through her own personal experience, Sanja knows how education can enrich one’s life, and she has faith that her daughters will soon have the opportunity to attend a four year university close to home.

Gary Cordell has had a life-long interest in education, having begun his working life teaching Economics and Criminal Justice. Mr. Cordell is the branch manager for the Keller Williams Payson office. He became a realtor in 2005, and was the branch manager at Realty Executives prior to taking his current position.

Tom Slonaker is a Trustee for Allegheny College in Pennsylvania.  In this capacity, he is the Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee, and Vice Chair of the Investment Committee. He also chairs the Presidential Search Committee.  Tom also recently served as the Special Trustee for American Indians, US Government, a presidential nominee position.

Roger is the General Manager of the Mazatzal Hotel and Casino for the Tonto Apache Tribe. Prior to accepting his current position, Roger was the General Manager of Hon-Dah Resort and Casino, where he was one of the youngest casino general managers in Indian Country. During his tenure, the casino ultimately achieved the #1 ranking in Ranking Arizona  in 2003.
